Courier and Cargo

Both the weights may differ. If there are any changes in the weight or if the cargo weighs more, additional payment will be collected.

Volumetric weight charges are charged based on how much space the cargo parcel occupies in the shipping vessels. In these cases, usually the Volumetric Weight is calculated for the shipment cost of the courier parcel. Charges on your invoice will be based on the greater of the two: total actual weight versus total volumetric weight.

Generally it takes 3 to 4 working days to deliver courier parcel. Also it depends on the courier service which you are using.

Yes, an online courier parcel tracking system has been implemented by most of the courier services. This enables you to track your courier parcel in real time. Once your courier parcel is shipped, you will receive a courier tracking number. This will enable you to track your courier parcel.

Yes, it is good to send a copy of the invoice to the sender as you can claim discrepancies if any.

Yes, your courier parcel will be opened by the custom authorities.

Dangerous articles like packaged Toxic gases, compressed air of gas appliances , Liquids, Semi Liquids, Flammables ,Perishables, Poisonous Articles , Radioactive Materials, all commodities banned by Law, corrosive and explosive materials, Pressurized cylinder or bottles, Precious & Semi-Precious articles, Substances liable to heating or catching fire under normal conditions experienced in transportation, etc are all banned.

Regardless of any payment instructions or provisions to the contrary, the sender shall always remain liable for the charges including any duties and taxes. Senders should note terms and Conditions carefully and where necessary, obtain insurance cover in order to protect their interests.

When you are signing for a package on delivery, you are signing that the delivery has been ‘received in good condition’. Once this is signed, transit cover is then deemed void.

Cargo (or freight) is goods or produce transported, generally for commercial gain, by ship or aircraft, although the term is now extended to intermodal train, van or truck.

Some items may endanger the safety of an aircraft or persons on board. The air transportation of these dangerous materials can either be forbidden or restricted.

Consignments must be accompanied by a consignment note. All shipments, except documents, that travel outside India must also be accompanied by a commercial invoice.
