NCH Docket No.: | 2720558 | Dated: | 2021-05-05 | Sector: | School Education |
---|---|---|---|---|---|
Problem Reported: | Consumer had made an online payment of ₹ 900.62 (₹ 840 registration fees + ₹ 50 Online Application Fees + Transaction Charges) for registration in secondary course in mid February 2021. However, the payment did not get credited and a failure receipt was generated by the Institution, however, the money was debited from his Bank account. Consumer made another payment of the same amount which was successful, so that he could avoid the last date for registration. He waited for a few days for the amount to be refunded but no refund was received. Consumer had registered his grievance with his Bank as well as the payment gateway and both of them had stated that his first payment was successful and money is with the merchant i.e. the Institution. Even after lodging many grievances and requests through multiple channels, the Institution had not refunded his money. | ||||
Escalation by NCH: | As the Institution is a convergence partner of the National Consumer Helpline, the grievance was responded by the company on the NCH portal that “ xxxx has already requested the bank to refund the amount”. | ||||
