Problem Reported: Consumer was offered to open an account in a Private sector Bank, for his minor child which would be linked to his main account, and that there was no need to maintain any balance in this account. So, consumer opened this account in January 202. The AMB (Average monthly balance) was being deducted from his account from January 2021 onwards. Despite requesting the Bank official in February 2021 of the same, no resolution was provided. He raised his grievance with the bank in April 2021 and was assured that it would be solved within 6 days. However, neither has any amount been refunded, nor had the deduction stopped.
Escalation by NCH: As the Bank is a convergence partner of the National Consumer Helpline, the grievance was responded by the company on the NCH Portal stating “We would like to inform you that as a service gesture, charges of ₹ 4956.00 has been reversed and credited to your account on xxxxx. Further, the said account has been raised to managed portfolio under your family group ID. Trust your concern has been addressed as per your satisfaction “.
