Problem Reported: Consumer had purchased a branded Inverter Air Conditioner in June 2016, for ₹51,600/- which had a 10 years’ compressor warranty. In March 2021, as there was a cooling issue, he registered a grievance with the company, and the technician who visited informed him that as the fan motor was not working, a new one would have to be ordered and fixed. Since March 2021, consumer had called customer care and service center many times to ask about the ordered fan motor but they gave a number of reasons like they had not received the parcel, late delivery or stuck because of lockdown etc. Now they are saying that the company itself does not have the spare parts as the production of that model has been discontinued and in lieu of that they would give ₹5000/- as compensation. Consumer says that for a ₹51,600/- worth inverter AC, he would not accept that compensation offer.
Escalation by NCH: As the company is a convergence partner of the National Consumer Helpline; the grievance was responded by the company on the NCH portal that “Repair done, Part Replaced, Case closed.”
