Problem Reported: Consumer had purchased a branded solar water heater 300LPD in mid – September 2016 with the warranty of five years and a price of ₹ 22000/-. He was getting satisfactory services, but when he reported a leakage issue in December 2020, he was advised to get a replacement within the warranty period, because it had attracted rust near the O-ring welding area. After raising the issue to the company, the service person came and took photos and all the corresponding documents and assured an early replacement. However, despite continuously following up verbally as well as in writing with both – the company and the dealer, the grievance had not been addressed; they were only giving him lame excuses.
Escalation by NCH: As the Consumer Durables Company is not a Convergence partner of the NCH, the grievance was e-mailed to the company and after one reminder, and the company responded that, “We have sent the tank to the customer site. The Tank was delivered to a customer site yesterday; customer was not ready to pay labour charges for reinstallation and said he would get it installed by a local technician.”
Consumer Remark in INGRAM: Excellent ! Finally I got justice, if this kind of forum was not there to address poor consumer's grievance like mine, then these kind of big companies would have swallowed consumers. Thanks a lot.
