Problem Reported: Consumer had booked a US tour in January 2020 through a travel company and had paid ₹ 115735 as the booking amount. The tour was scheduled for April 2020 but due to COVID-19, the Govt. of India had cancelled the flights, and later on announced that the ticket amount would be refunded. The Consumer had been asking for a refund to the company since then, but the company was not refunding the amount.
Escalation by NCH: As the tours and travel company is a convergence partner of the National Consumer Helpline, the grievance was responded by the company on the NCH Portal that ‘Service Quality team has responded to consumer and have initiated Refund. Customer had shared Bank details on 28th Sep 2021’
