Problem Reported: | Consumer had purchased a branded laptop by paying ₹ 109990/- in mid Feb 2021 from an online shopping portal. In the month of September 2021, his device started having issues like auto-shutdown and screen flickering, so he raised a grievance with the company’s customer care in the first week of September 2021.The laptop was picked up by the technician from the assigned service center and he also informed that the motherboard of the device was malfunctioning, which had to be replaced. They also told him that they had already made a request to the company for the respective part. But, even after more than 20 days, the laptop hadn’t been repaired. Whenever consumer enquired, he was told that the request for the part is yet to be approved by the company. The company was in warranty till Feb 2024 along with Accidental damage protection until Feb 2022. Due to this delay, all his work had been pending for 20 days. | ||||
Escalation by NCH: | As the branded laptop company is a convergence partner of the National Consumer Helpline, the grievance was responded by the company on the NCH Portal stating ‘Main board replaced and now system is working fine. Case closed.’ | ||||
