Problem Reported: Consumer has a Savings account in a Payments Bank. The consumer has a single name without a surname, and the same is in his PAN card, Aadhar card and the account opened was also in his single name. However, the payment bank account that was opened, his name had been suffixed with Kumar. Consumer had deposited ₹30,000 in the third week of October 2021 in his savings account, but his account got frozen, and the bank asked for documents to unfreeze it. He had already sent both the documents (Aadhaar and PAN) used while opening the account but because of name mismatch the account could not be made operative.
Escalation by NCH: As the Payments Bank is a convergence partner of the National Consumer Helpline; the grievance was responded by the company on the NCH Portal that “We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience caused. We would like to inform you that your account is active for transactions.”
