Problem Reported: Consumer had taken the services of an agency providing legal assistance by paying ₹ 2359/- in end October 2021, but as per their policy, consumer had to wait for 24 hours for getting an advocate assigned. However, the agency kept the consumer on hold for 6 days, and after lodging repeated grievances, he received a call from an advocate. However, consumer had changed his mind and did not want to avail services from them any longer and had written to them a couple of times to refund the amount. The agency wrote back that as per the system update, the assigned advocate had already contacted him. Consumer was of the view that the agency indulged in fraudulent activities. He wanted NCH to intervene in the matter and assist him to get the refund amount, and that NCH cooperation would be highly appreciated in this matter
Escalation by NCH: As the Services agency is a convergence partner of the National Consumer Helpline; the grievance was responded by the company on the NCH Portal that “We have spoken to the client and as per our discussion, as the client has not received any service from us; we are refunding the full amount to the client. Client has also acknowledged the same in the mail.”
