Problem Reported: Consumer had purchased a branded Lightweight Dry Iron in the first week of August 2020 from an online shopping platform for ₹674/-. The surface of the iron delivered got blackish within less than 10 months of usage and when he contacted the company’s Customer Care, within 48 hours, a service person was sent to repair the iron. After inspecting, the service person said that the surface of the iron needs to be replaced and he would initiate an order for the said surface part which will take some time. After some days consumer got the message that the grievance had been resolved and hence closed. So, the consumer registered one more grievance for the same issue, and this time also a service person came and informed the consumer to change the particular part in the product and it would take some time. His grievance was again closed by the company without giving any resolution. As this had happened 3 times, the Consumer approached the National Consumer Helpline for a resolution.
Escalation by NCH: As the Consumer Durables Company is a convergence partner of the National Consumer Helpline, the grievance was responded by the company on the NCH Portal that “we would like to inform you that your grievance has been addressed and resolved satisfactorily.”
