Problem Reported: Consumer had a salary account which was later converted to a savings account. The account was debited for non-maintenance of the average minimum balance. On visiting the bank branch, consumer was informed that he had to close his personal loan first and only then his request to waive off the deducted amount would be registered. Also, as he had changed the standing instructions for his personal loan monthly deduction to another bank, he had been charged an additional ₹500/- . Hence total amount deducted was ₹ 3336.13 He was advised to register his request for waiver of the amount, and on doing so the refund would be credited in a week’s time, after which he should close his account. However, he had not yet received the refund and requested NCH to help him.
Escalation by NCH: As the Bank is a convergence partner of NCH; the grievance was responded on the portal that ‘, we have waived the pending charges amounting to Rs. 2845.26/- on your account and an additional Rs.2835/- have been reversed and credited into your account. As discussed with our branch staff, request you to submit the account closure request at any of our branch for closure of the said account to avoid levy of any further charges”
