Problem Reported: Consumer had contacted an online rental company for a flat for 3 people. An associate of the rental company shared the details of a 1BHK private property with all the photos, at a rental of ₹21000/- per month and 21000/- security deposit and ₹2999/- as booking amount to reserve the property, adjustable with the rent. After paying 2999/- he was asked to pay ₹ 2999/- per person and for 3 people he paid ₹ 8997/- in total. But he received a booking confirmation of a different property very far away, to which he raised his objection. Thereafter, the company informed him that they did not have any such property and asked the consumer to take a shared 2BHK apartment with someone else. Consumer denied and asked them to refund the advance, as per their policy terms. Consumer had mailed the company 10 times but had not received the refund of ₹ 8997/- . He requested NCH for help as he was very stressed about all this.
Escalation by NCH: As the company is a not a convergence partner of the National Consumer Helpline; the grievance was forwarded to the company, and the company responded that the refund of Rs.8997/- in under process and the same has already been communicated to the customer. The refund will be closed within 10-15 working days.
