Problem Reported: Consumer had booked flight tickets in early March 2020 to travel in third week of May 2020 from Mumbai to Dehradun for 7 members. Due to the lockdown, flights were cancelled and the Airlines company put the money in credit shell instead of refunding the amount. Consumer requested for refund which the company did not agree to. Consumer wanted the refund and not credit shell, as the flight had been cancelled.
Escalation by NCH: As the company is a convergence partner of the National Consumer Helpline, the company responded on the NCH portal stating that “we would like to confirm that your PNR/ booking reference stands cancelled and an amount of INR 33,208 has been refunded from our end to the travel agency account. Thus, we would like to request you to get in touch with the concerned travel agency to claim the amount. It may take up to 3 weeks for the amount to reflect in your account.”
