Problem Reported: | Consumer had two accounts in a Private sector Bank, and one year earlier, he had closed his savings and current account. He received one message and one email from a linked securities company that in his two demat accounts there is a lien amount of ₹885 due, and that he would have to pay the amount. He had never opened any demat account with this bank nor had he done any transaction in these accounts. These two accounts were opened without his consent. He requested to close these two accounts | ||||
Escalation by NCH: | As the bank is a convergence partner of the National Consumer Helpline, the company responded to the grievance on the NCH Portal that “annual maintenance charges of ₹885 was levied for the demat account, and as per his Email request, the demat account is closed and annual maintenance charges of ₹ 885 has been waived off.” | ||||
