Success Story #2825038

NCH Docket No 2825038 Dated 2021-07-14 Sector Electronics Products
Problem Reported Consumer had purchased a branded laptop through the company’s website in early May 2019 by paying ₹ 71,067/-. Apart from the regular product, he had paid an extra ₹ 3000 for 3 Years for extra hardware warranty after Remote Diagnosis and extended Battery Service. He received the laptop after a week. The onsite Service after Remote Diagnosis for Hardware Warranty was showing a correct date and year, but the Extended Battery Service was showing valid for only 2 years, and not 3 as promised. On their system they had given only 2 years of extended service for his battery. After two years of usage, the battery performance had declined as it was charging to only 33.17% of design capacity, and showed that the battery was reaching the end of its useable life. When he contacted the company’s Technical Support Team through Chat, they said that as per their records, the warranty of battery has expired. Even after paying for 3 years extended battery service, they were not providing the service. Consumer had the original invoice copy for purchase of the Extended Battery Service.
Escalation by NCH As the company is a convergence partner of the National Consumer Helpline, the complaint was ponded by the company on the NCH portal stating that” Issue resolved after Part Replacement”
