Problem Reported Consumer had ordered branded running shoes through an online portal APP in end December 2020. But while the transaction showed ‘unsuccessful, the money was debited from his account. When he contacted the portal, they told him that the transaction was unsuccessful and no amount was received and advised him to contact his bank. When he contacted his bank, they said that the transaction was successful. As the portal had intimated him in writing about not having received the payment, he applied for charge back from his bank, and was told that it would take 15 days. But even after this, the refund was not credited to his account, and his bank informed him that as the merchant bank had not replied, the charge back was still pending. He was asked by his bank to wait till a reply from the merchant bank was received regarding the refund.
Escalation by NCH As the Bank is a convergence partner of the National Consumer Helpline, the grievance was responded by the company on the NCH Portal that “As confirmed by the reconciliation team we have processed the reversal of Rs 6,599” and gave the UTR Reference No.
