The National Consumer Helpline (NCH), is the grievance redressal mechanism of the Department of Consumer Affairs, Govt. of India. The National Consumer Helpline (NCH) has emerged as a single point of access for consumers across the country for grievance redressal at the pre-litigation stage. Consumers can register their grievances from all over the country in 17 languages through an omni channel IT-enabled central portal called NCH through a toll-free number (1915)
or 1800-11-4000
. These grievances can be registered through various channels: the WhatsApp app, SMS, NCH app, web portal, and Umang app, as per their convenience.
As part of the Project, Companies partner with NCH under the ‘Convergence’ initiative on a completely voluntary, free-of-charge basis to help in resolving their customer grievances cordially and expeditiously. NCH has entered into convergence partnership with more than 1027 companies and organizations. Grievances are forwarded to these companies on a ‘real-time basis and the company can respond to them suitably and cordially within a time span of 30 days.
