Problem Reported Consumer had purchased a well-known brand refrigerator in mid-January 2021 and had paid ₹37490/-. Installation was done after 10 days, and after 15 days of installation, consumer found that the refrigerator was not cooling properly as all eatables kept in the fridge get spoilt. As the refrigerator was in the warranty period, she contacted the company and a technician visited in March 2021 and asked her to switch off the unit for 2 days. Thereafter, the refrigerator worked properly for 20 days but again the same problem arose. Then again when the technician visited he confirmed that the condenser of the refrigerator was faulty. So, consumer raised request for replacement but the company denied saying that they could only provide repairs and no replacement.
Escalation by NCH As the company is a convergence partner of the National Consumer Helpline, the response received from Company on the NCH Portal stated that “In this case, appliance replacement has been done and issue resolved hence we are closing this case”.
Consumer Remark in INGRAM Excellent! I am glad I contacted NCH. Everyone here is very supportive and understanding. NCH takes laudable efforts to protect consumer rights. I got a defective Refrigerator, was refused refund/replacement. Suffered 4months. In June contacted NCH, mid-July, got replacement. So happy, I will make more people aware of this. Thanks a bunch National consumer helpline.
